Introduction to Meditation

During this 6 week course we will be learning two traditional Buddhist meditation practices.

The Mindfulness of Breathing and The Metta Bhavana.

The Mindfulness practice helps us to cultivate calm and awareness in our lives and the Metta practice helps us to cultivate positive, altruistic emotions.

During the course, through discussion and talks, we will be looking at how to develop an ongoing meditation practice and the hinderances which may occur as we try to meditate. We will also be looking at some of the benefits we might expect to experience as our meditation practice continues.

We will be meditating during the course so dress comfortably.

The course runs from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM each Wednesday for six weeks from 21 July.
