Details: The bodhisattva does useful things but she or he enjoys them. This is why it is said that the Bodhisattva plays.

 

'Prajna, or wisdom, involves not only an analytical understanding but is also united with an appreciative understanding.....If we have no desires to be fulfilled there is no subject and no object, that is the state of the bodhisattva - empty of desire for any particular purpose, all that is left is aesthetic appreciation.' On this retreat we will be exploring and playing with Sangharakshita's commentary on part of the Ratnaguna-samcayagatha sutta from the Perfection of Wisdom texts. We will be incorpororating these ideas into all the aspects of retreat life, including cooking, washing up, activities, meditation and rituals.Come and enjoy time with this community at play!
