Urban Retreat

Date: 15/05/2010 11:00 am
Details:

Due to the outstanding success of last year's International Urban Retreat the Melbourne Buddhist Centre will be hosting two Urban Retreats in 2010. The first Urban Retreat of the year begins on the morning of Saturday 15 May at the normal morning meditation class. We then spend the afternoon looking into how we can make small practical changes on our lives for the next week in order to become more mindful. During the week we will carry on with our normal lives whilst filling out daily Retreat Diaries, contacting our 'Dharma Buddies' and attending activities at the Buddhist Centre. Then on Saturday 22 May we all meet again for the day to report on our progress during the week and to draw up our personal precepts to try to continue to be more mindful for the rest of our lives.

It is essential to attend both Saturday 15 May and the following Saturday 22 May to benefit from the retreat.

The retreat is open to anyone who knows the Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana practices.

The retreat will be lead by Jivita and Brian Lowry with Tim Bramley assisting.

Cost is $160 for full wages; $140 low waged and $100 for concession card holders.

Enrollment and payment can be done online.
