Notes for regular attenders at Wednesday's sangha night
Coming Soon
The next few weeks are the lead up to Buddha Day on 3rd May. We will have some talks about the Buddha, evoking his importance and symbolism for us as Western Buddhists.
Buddha Day is the most imporant festival of the Buddhist calendar. We will start with the usual Saturday morning meditation session at 11am and follow that with lunch (bring a plate to share). The afternoon will consist in discussion, talks and puja and will end around 6.00pm.
Following Buddha Day
- 7th May Mindfulness of Breathing followed by Meditation Q and A
- 14th May Metta Bhavana followed by exploring devotion and chanting
- 21st May Mindfulness of Breathing followed by a full moon puja
- 28th May Metta Bhavana followed by the first in a series of talks by Siladasa on the Mahayana.
Wednesday evenings are open to those who know our two meditation practices and are familiar with our puja.
We meditate from 7.30pm to 8.30pm then have a tea break.
Ater the break we offer one of a range of activities, perhaps a Dharma talk, a discussion or a workshop related to Dharma practice.
Once a month, on the Wednesday nearest the full moon, we do a puja in the second half of the evening.
The evening ends around 9.30pm. We ask for $10 ($5 for concession card holders) per night.
If you are not sure whether this is for you, come along to the Thursday 7.30pm Newcomers drop-in meditation session.
